Bokashi Starter Kit, 10 Litre System & Compost-Zing
Effortlessly turn kitchen waste into nutrient-rich compost with this 10L Bokashi Starter Kit and Compost-Zing.
Bokashi Starter Kit, 10 Litre System & Compost-Zing
Made in New Zealand. A 10-litre bokashi system that turns kitchen waste — including meat, dairy, and cooked food — into nutrient-rich garden compost in about 4 weeks. Includes the bokashi bucket, lid, and a bag of 1kg Compost-Zing bokashi bran to get started. The fermentation method produces minimal odour compared to traditional composting and works year-round indoors. Bucket dimensions: 330mm × 260mm × 260mm.
Layer kitchen scraps in the bucket, sprinkle Compost-Zing over each layer, seal the lid, and drain liquid (diluted 1:100, it works as a liquid fertiliser). After 2–4 weeks, bury the pre-compost in garden soil to complete the process.

A 10-litre airtight fermentation bin and a 1kg bag of Compost-Zing inoculant bran seeded with beneficial microorganisms.
Bokashi can handle meat, fish, dairy, cooked food, and citrus — all things conventional outdoor compost bins struggle with or cannot handle.
Collect scraps in a separate container, empty into the bokashi bucket, press down firmly to remove air, sprinkle a layer of Compost-Zing, and seal the lid. Drain the liquid regularly and dilute it as a plant feed. When the bin is full, seal for 7 days, then bury the pre-compost in the garden where it completes breakdown in around 4 weeks.
Yes, they are kerbside recyclable.
Yes — the compact sealed bucket can be used indoors, making it practical for apartments. The pre-compost still needs to be buried in soil or a larger compost bin at the end of the process.
