Bamboo Clothes Pegs, Pack of 20

I love the feel and appearance of them. On first use I found the springs so strong that my slightly arthritic fingers found them hard to open when hanging or removing from the line.

Last a bit longer than any plastic peg!

I bought a few packs of these pegs earlier this year and was initially very happy with them.

However after 5 months of using them they are covered in black mould. This is despite the fact that they have never been left out in the rain and have only been used on my covered (under-verandah) clothesline.

I realise it's a tough job to create a sustainable and biodegradable product that also lasts well, but I had hoped for better from these. At this rate they'll be ready for the compost bin by the end of the year and I'll be buying stainless steel next time.

Nice strong pegs but hard to open....hoping they will loosen up over time.

These are great - last so much longer than plastic ones in the NZ sun.

Great pegs and good to replace the plastic ones. Only grip would be that it would be better if they could be a little longer to allow better grip.

Excellent strong grip. I was pleasantly surprised. The smooth surface has a nice feel. Glad to be replacing my plastic pegs that just mostly break then end up in landfill.

Great pegs. Smooth and very strong. Only complaint is they are a little hard to use due to being quite short. I think I will be looking for longer ones next time.

These pegs feel well made and the grip strength is excellent. Unfortunately they're let down by one major issue: They really need to be a little longer, with more area to grip and create leverage above the pivot point. They're especially short pegs, where you don't have much more than the width of a finger to grip above the spring to remove them, and the smooth bamboo plus the strong grip makes them unusually difficult to use. Someone else suggests adding a couple of grooves on the outside for better grip, and I'm sure that would help also.

Every bit of criticism in the reviews so far could be remedied just by making the top of the pegs about 1cm longer.
