KITCHEN Greencane
New product
Each of us can make a difference every time we household shop.
The paper for the kitchen towels is made using a mix of 70% recycled sugarcane waste and bamboo, then certified timber fibre is added to give a soft and strong, white paper. This sustainable alternative to traditional kitchen towels aims to take the pressure off the world forestry stocks and encourage greater forest diversity.
Why Greencane Kitchen Towels?
When we source our products, we try to find as many environmental benefits as possible. We source eco products that do not cause any unnecessary harm to our environment.
This particular product matches the following critera (click on each to see other products matching the same):
Recycling has many benefits like saving energy, conserving raw materials, reducing the amount of stuff that goes to landfills and it's also saving you money. 2.5 Million Tons of waste go to landfills each year (8kg per person/week) 3/4 could be saved by re-using, recycling and composting. Re-duce, Re-use, Re-cycle!
Many people suffer from allergies, asthma and other sensitivities because of products that contain toxins or otherwise harmful ingredients. Most of these products are used inside the house eg. for cleaning, as body care products, as a detergent and so on. We try to source products that are mostly natural and do not cause any harm to you or your environment.
What is the difference? Compostable materials provide the earth with nutrients once it has completely broken down. Biodegradable materials refer to the ability of breaking down and return to nature. Buying products that are compostable and/or biodegradable will help to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfills.
At the beginning of most production chains are the workers and farmers (producers). Sadly they do not always get a fair share of the benefits of the trade. You as a consumer can now make a conscious decision about buying fairtrade or fairly traded products and putting this right.

Great product
I've been putting these in my bokashi so a double environmental benefit! Will definitely buy again
No chlorine bleach...
...nor inks and fragrances means these are ideal for sprouting microgreens.
As good as conventional paper towels but better
I'm using paper towels a lot in my kitchen and I haven't found any difference in compare with common use paper towels. They are simply much better for the environment. I'm happy to pay greater price as investment into better future.

Perfect for the Job!
After a long search I found these paper towels that are not bleached or perfumed or toxic. I use them to sprout my mung beans and they do the job well. I put some in the bottom of a glass baking dish, then the soaked beans and some more towels on top, wet well with filtered water, wrap in a towel and put in a warm place. Lovely to have fresh sprouts whenever I want them.
