A naturally grown product with amazing cleaning powers. The SoapNut shells contain a natural substance called Saponin. Once released into water, they create mild suds similar to soap and will effectively remove dirt and oils from clothes and garments.
This box contains 250g of SoapNut shells and 1 cotton wash bag. It will wash up to 90 loads of laundry or dishes. Reuse 4-6 times before disposing on your compost
Soapnuts are:
People in India and Nepal have been doing their laundry and cleaning with Soap nuts for hundreds of years. Soapnut is the dried fruit of the Ritha tree and the saponin released is a 100% substitute to normal detergents.
SoapNuts can be used for washing clothes, dishes, cloth nappies, as a liquid soap, cleaning and shining ornaments, household cleaner etc. They are highly-effective and gentle and leave your laundry fresh and clean. Suitable on all fabrics at all temperatures. They work in front and top loaders.
Because SoapNuts are chemical free they are an excellent product for washing children's clothing and cloth nappies. Also a great product to use if you suffer from eczema or sensitive skin.

This particular product matches the following critera (click on each to see other products matching the same):
Recycling has many benefits like saving energy, conserving raw materials, reducing the amount of stuff that goes to landfills and it's also saving you money. 2.5 Million Tons of waste go to landfills each year (8kg per person/week) 3/4 could be saved by re-using, recycling and composting. Re-duce, Re-use, Re-cycle!
Many people suffer from allergies, asthma and other sensitivities because of products that contain toxins or otherwise harmful ingredients. Most of these products are used inside the house eg. for cleaning, as body care products, as a detergent and so on. We try to source products that are mostly natural and do not cause any harm to you or your environment.
What is the difference? Compostable materials provide the earth with nutrients once it has completely broken down. Biodegradable materials refer to the ability of breaking down and return to nature. Buying products that are compostable and/or biodegradable will help to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfills.
At the beginning of most production chains are the workers and farmers (producers). Sadly they do not always get a fair share of the benefits of the trade. You as a consumer can now make a conscious decision about buying fairtrade or fairly traded products and putting this right.

This arrived quickly and without any problems. The little bag that came with it looks helpful. I'm excited to try it.
A change your life product
Just absolutely love these soapnut shells, was sceptical when I first tried them, but they really do work. Once the laundry has dried on the line, the only smell you have is one of freshness. No plastic, no chemicals. Will not be going back to other detergents.
